The B16 dilema
Hey everyone, i have, what i think will probably be a good question, (for me anyhow ;p) ok, lets get started, first off, i was reading around the forum, and came across some info of the b16's with obd2, that it would try and undo mods made to the car by remapping, and eliminating the gains? is this actully true? if so, i am glad i saw this, i was planning on doing a b16 swap this spring, but asumed the B16A2 would be the better engine, being newer, and having a little more power, so i guess if any one could help clear up any misconceptions i have, i would be very grateful
thanks in advance
thanks in advance
yes sorta..but not really .its just ppl say they dont get as much gains from obd2 as to obd1...but u can convert ur obd2 to obd1 easy...u can get conversion harness and get a diff ecu..its not a big deal anymore..
hmm, i see, so, the harness would take car of that problem? or would you need a new ecu as well? and is the $700 price dif worth it in your opinion?
oh and another thing i have wondered, seems how we are on the subject, what parts do you buy for these engines? what i mean is, like when looking for parts, it will list the car year and model for what engine parts.. so what would parts for the b16's be then? hope i dont sound like a dumb ***!
if so, so be it, thanks alot
