Default sohc flywheel question?

I have a 1994 sohc civic. I have intake, exhaust, header and bla, bla,bla... anyways I'm getting a clutch mater stage 2 clutch put in the week of thanksgiving and want to shave the flywheel to make it rev faster. I was wondering how much the stock flywheel weighs and how much I should shave off. Please help

Stock weights about 18lbs. Shave it to 12lbs max.

LOL. Your acceleration will climb faster and you can feel quicker throttle response. I got an ACT 8.8lbs, it feels great.

i thought the stock flywheel was 17 pounds. anyway- dont shave under 12lbs and u should make sure that it gets balanced too... i recently put an act 12lb flywheel in my z6 and it revs noticeably quicker. its especailly helpful in lower rps cause i dont have much hp or torque down there and this gets you up into your powerband quicker..

I thought I've read that shaving isnt such a hot idea? Maybe I got the wrong impression. I have the 12lb ACT flywheel, and it's hooter-rific. ( . ) ( . )

i just got an 8lb act yesterday. i like it a lot. the tach moves soo fast - in both directions. you have to shift fast and getting moving is a little tricky, but in about 3 hours, i got used to it. the car feels a bit quicker especially in the mid range. i'd say get an 8lb if you can handle the comprimises in driveablility. rev matching and heeltoe downshifting are MUCH easier too.

I had 6lbs taken off of mine. Anymore and you take the risk of it shattering. It only cost about $50 vs $200+ for an aftermarket flywheel.
