OT-I done screwed up....
So I sold my race car...
Why ? Because I had a great education/life/wife lined up in South Africa..
And now it seems to be falling through.. The cost of living is high there.. My income wouldnt be until I finished school. Financial backing from this side jst fell on its face completely..
So right now I dont know what to do.. I was thinking telling the buyer I will give him his deposit back since he hasnt picked it up yet. But at the same time I could move to another car in another class perhaps.
Looking for low operating costs. The Lotus 7 i want to build runs EP.. not something thats cost controlled.. My M coupe isnt going anywhere either.. Its now a part of the family.
What would you do with $5k to spend on racing ? Or just sit on the sideline and watch as my licience expires?
Thouights? Opinions ? Feelings ?

Or you could actually follow through on your commitment and sell it and start looking for another used car to buy.

i feel it needs too much development.. It needs the motor and tranny to be up there with catch22 and the big boys.. I would rather wait and get a SRF i think.. or some other strict cost controleld class or just a damn open class!
Anyone know if lotus 7 replicas can run SPU/SPO ?

One of my main competitors in SPU runs a Westfield (Super 7). It is a really scary thing to me, virtually an open wheel car. The SPU class here is under 2L currently.

Caterham 7 runs EP with the Zetec motor - while EP isn't cost controlled in general, the Caterham is a Limited Prep car (ie the car is raced as sold).

Ahh. i was wondering what limited ment.. Thanks
I couldnt do a caterham because its like $30k. I could do an SPU car it appears... maybe lotus club when such a thing evolves.

not really.. But great point!
To effectively move countries comes to about $115k. Of which almost $0 is financable! So I would need to generate that in cash. Which wihout a college degree(a work in progress) @ age 20 is an uphill battle of mass proportion.
So it seems best to get educated here and then move.. or so the plan goes unless i could change that... I can hope right ?
