Default RHD Type R

Hi, I have the opportunity to buy a RHD Type R. I have one question however. Lets say something went wrong with the steering column, would most of the parts be the same as on the USDM integra, or would everything have to be special ordered from Japan? Thank you.

To me, there are nothing to worry about. There are so may parts came from Japan that you don't know what to do with.

if its cheap pick it up and try to find a wrecked USDM-R and transfer as much as you can in the wrecked R, or IMO keep the RHD R

So I don't need to worry about not being able to find parts? I'm assuming that because it's a Honda, it will be very reliable. I'd like to keep the outside appearance completely stock except for a pair of Spoon wheels and spoon front lip. But other than that stock. And eventually turbo it. Thanks for the input, you all are very helpful

someone is going for all out jdm bling it appears.......from everything I've read about registering a jdm car, it sounds like you are gonna have a lot of fun trying to register it if you actually buy one. I don't forsee a jdm itr for you in the future.

Well, it's allready registered in my state, so i don't forsee that big of a problem. I'd be happy with a usdm gsr or type r. I actualy think the GSR might be better because of the lower compression engine from the factory. But if i go turbo i'll be replacing pistons anyway. So it was just a thought. I like the fact that the type R's are 5 lug, it allows alot mroe choices for wheels and brakes. And i do like the JDM front 100 times better from an asthetics point of view as opposed to the USDM DC2 front. Just my oppinion though.

O, sorry for my post above then, it was kinda negative. im just used to seeing people ask about importing cars. Anyway, if I were you I'd get the car if it was a reasonable price. I agree that the jdm front looks better, and the type r is definitely a better platform to begin with than a gs-r. Like .jefs0ng and cw-itr said, jdm parts are easy to get now so you shouldn't have a problem. Enjoy the car.

Back in the 80's , my friend bought a grey market Prelude from Germany and some major maintence parts don't match like set of break pads.
U better do your homework.

LOL. Amen to that.

There's more important things to spend money on than RHD. Like nothing at all. Or replacing every stock part on a usdm dc2.

There's no reason to get a RHD.

If you can get it registered more power to ya! Seeing as how the JDM Type-R's are dirt cheap compared to the USDM R's, I think it wouldn't be that bad of a choice as long as you can register it.

98's sell for 11K-12K, sometimes cheaper. And getting it over here isn't that expensive. If a person is looking for a 97 or 98 USDM R, it most likely will not have the warranty with it anyway, so that's not such a big deal if you can do the work yourself.

And yes....all the parts are plentiful. All the steering column parts you speak of usually get thrown away by jdm importers because they don't know what to do with them. They come with the clips, and when they pull them apart, they junk the stuff they can't sell.
