Would there be any purpose in doing this to a type R crank if good reason??
i just wonder becuase would it just be the same weight as the GSR when it was nife edged?? and if so would it be stronger or anything?

knife edging is more to reduce windage than reduce rotational mass. Since we have a windage tray and our cranks don't sit in oil, I wouldn't bother.

but with less rotational mass, less weight and a lightened flywheel wouldnt it make a substantial increase in the speed the engine revs?

Our cranks dont slop around in the oil pan so knife edging is not really needed.
As StyleTEG said we have a windage tray so dont waste the money.
