Default resale value for 98 gsr turbo??

I'm looking to buy a gsr w/ a revhard stage 2 turbo kit. the car has 79k w/ 14k on the turbo. It was a very well installed kit and will be professionally inspected again before I buy the car, should i decide to do so. THe guy is aking $12900 for the car but I think that is high considering a stock gsr will pull around $8500. Overall, he spend around $8400 total for the turbo and other accessories (hks head gasket, boost controller, carbon fiber hood, etc.). The car is in good condition except it is missing a back seat and is making a rattle noise due to have no cat and a straight pipe. It also has a Type R wing. Considering that modifications have terrible resale, I was hoping that some of you could give me a good idea on what a fair price to pay would be. Thanks for the help.

Banks don't finance mods, so most poeple will only be allowed to borrow the ACV and they will have to come up with the rest. What this means is maybe wait around let him try to sell it for a month, then step in and make an offer. IMO modded cars are hard to sale for the reason above, and alot of poeple dont like to buy modded cars. Its hard to say without looking at the car/turbo setup, and all the details.

Give us some more info maybe pictures.

Every modification lessens the value of the car. ESPECIALLY if its sold at a wholesale auction or traded to a dealer....Person to Person it might be worth a little less than a stock one, but I wouldnt trust it. You dont know how well taken care of it was, how he drove it, etc....

Its sketchy to buy cars which have had a good bit of work done. If you wait im sure you can do better...Heck I just got my self a 1998 4door GS-R for an amazing price at auction...45k mi, completely stock.....$7k. But you need a dealer licence to buy at these....What im saying, wait and something better will come along.

Here is what the car has:: Revhard stg 2 kit (car has whatever injectors come w/kit but shop owner said the fuel system was complete for it's intended purpose), HKS headgasket 2.6MM/82.5MM, intake manifold gasket, Tial 35MM wastegate, exhaust, Apex V-AFC vtec/fuel controller, AEM cam gears, custom intake, AEM fuel rail, Coated manifold and turbo housing, Heat wrapped AC lines, magnecor wires, NGK spark plugs, custom guages and a few other accessories. The car was dyno tuned and I am told by the shop owner that did the install that this setup was very reliable in its current form. He did say that it would definitely benefit from Hondata down the road which I will be doing in about 6-8 mos. I do trust his opinion b/c of his reputation (Kenny Tran). He is going to do a compression test and thoroughly inspect the car for me. The reason i'm interested in this car is that I cannot buy a stock car and piece it together later b/c I'm in college and my dad is financing this purchase. My 97 ITR was stolen 2 mos. ago and my dad won't spend money on adding aftermarket components, hence my interest in this car due to the savings of already having it modded. Now that you have the info, tell me what you think. Assuming that the car is in good condition, what would you be willing to pay?
