Supercharger install Problems on 2000 Civic EX
Purchased a Jackson Racing Supercharger from another person who had it installed on a 1999 Civic EX. On the Jackson Racing site, it says that these two are the same kits.
Everything has been installed and when turning the car on, it rather than idling properly at like 750 rpms, it winds all the way up to redline really quickly with out any assistance from the gas pedal.
When looking under the hood, I didn't see any leaks or anything, nor did the throttle cable move any.
What could be causing this????
Please help.

So you are saying that without even touching the gas pedal, the SC winds up to redline? It's fine at startup (idles fow a few seconds), then from there it shoots to redline?

I idles ok for like 1 second just to allow the motor to successfully turn over and then it revs up as if my foot is on the gas.
We think that it is a vacuum hose also but we can't figure out which one. I have taken several pictures of the motor setup if anyone thinks that they might want to take a look at the situation.

Post the pics, you also might want to contact Jackson Racing about this and see what they have to say, their response time is usually about 1-2 days.
Hey! We found the problem. You were right, it was a vacuum leak. Where the supercharger mounts to the intake manifold there was about an 1/8 of a inch gap in between. We placed liquid gasket in between the two units and tightened the hell out of the bolts. Mounted it back on and started the motor.
It now bounces between 1 and 2000rpms so there is still a small vacuum leak somewhere else but at least we can turn the car on an leave it on without it reving up on it own and and going to redline.
We took it for a quick run around the neighborhood and on the main road (approx.1mile) and it ran nicely and sounded pretty good. We never floored it nor passed 5500 rpms because it is so new and we didn't want to mess it up.
Parked it after that and are now working out the bugs and stuff.
Thanks peeps, for all ya help!
