why I dont complain to head back to school (FSAE)
when most people head back to college that means the end of their race season, when I get back i drive more!!
Had an awesome weekend of autocross this weekend driving the fsae car. The thing is completely foreign when compared to driving my fwd civic, but it certainly is a rush.
Just wanted to say give a shout out to all the other FSAE guys on the board and to see how you all are coming along
Cornell FSAE
hey hey.
We're working on 3 cars right now. One we're polishing up to go to austrailia. One is supposed to be a track bitch, and then we're putting together next year's car.
It sucks, cause we don't really drive a whole lot, especially if you're not a driver. It's ok though, cause I mostly just want to work on the car. I just auto-x my own car.

All hail Cornell SAE! Is that your 04 car in the above pic??
Clemson FSAE member here. We have been touching up 2 previous cars so we have something for driver training. We have pretty much all of the car designed in Solidworks and are going to begin fabrication of the chassis next week. Again, I know this all sounds like a joke compared to Cornell but yea...

I was happy to see in the latest GRM that my alma mater's FSAE cars still haul ***. Univesity of Texas at Arlington. They are pictured in the SCCA Nationals' coverage. We used to do quite well in the FSAE competition back when I was still attending the school (89 to 94). Made me want to change major...
University of Michigan's 04 car is off to a good start. I won't be able to drive it, and I'm still trying to balance school and shop work (suspension team), but this first semester is a lot of fun (frustrating too)...
BTW if everyone could e-mail all of their secrets, tricks, and breakthrough designs, that would be great.

while at University of Missouri-Columbia (Mizzou) I was on their FSAE team, then i transfered to University of Missouri-St. Louis, and sadly they have no FSAE team.

Cornell FSAE? A friend of mine from high school was big into FSAE at Cornell a few years ago (95-98 I think). His name is Bill Riley. I was always jealous.
****. i want to go back and earn a masters degree so i can work with a team.
i should've bailed and transferred when i learned about FSAE.

well i guess the "bright side" is that you'll won't be spoiled by the 2.0g+ turning capabilities of a formula car, which apparently renders driving regular cars completely and utterly pointless and boring.
I wouldn't call it boring, but driving a Formula car with the power to weight ratio of a dodge viper and REAL racing slicks is a whole other world

Yep, those guys kicked butt in Topeka this year! Very entertaining, as were all the FSAE teams. I wish I had gotten into that when I was in college.
