b16 speedometer cable....(i searched)
ok well everyone says just plug it in, but on my buddys b16 there isnt a hole. but rather a clip. so is there anyways i can switch the speedometer sensor from a dx to the b16? or does my friend need a newer cluster that recognizes the digial sensor and some custom wiring?
Sounds like his tranny has the VSS plug setup, and you need the cable sensor, right? If so, no, you cannot use one off a DX tranny, you need a manual speed sensor, from a B series tranny.
(I happen to have one sitting here if you need.

i did a swap for afriend and his hsd the elctronic vss . all i did was pull the cable drive one outta his 91 si hb tranny and put it in the new b-series tranny . it worked perfect.
i have an 88 crx si/jdm b16/s1 and when i got the motor it had the jdm speedcable on it and it was trying to look high tech and **** with hoses comin off of it..i just gave that jdm contraption the boot and put my stock speedcable in the whole and it works fine...good luck
Yeah I just used the manual one from the original tranny. No problem. I'm not sure how the ecu gets a speed signal like that, but apparently it does....

I think I remember it looking like that as well. You can do it though.

The VSS is actually inside your gauge cluster on the older cars, rather than inside the transmission.
There should be a 10mm bolt on the VSS, that's all that holds it into the transmission. Remove the 10mm bolt and remove the assembly (it will pop out with some twisting).

i will either buy one or ...if someone would like to trade my electronic VSS for the Cable driven one that would be awesome, im on the honda-tech good sellers list so no need to worry i just need it ASAP.

Me me me! PM me!
I have a DX unit and B16A unit... I'm going to try the DX in my B16A. If it works, then I'll sell you the B16 unit.
Both work fine, I just want an electronic VSS.
