Default Official ZC thread

I wanted to get a thread going about the ZC engine. So post anything about the ZC from engine build ups, places to buy them, quarter mile times, etc.... Lets make this a good informitive thread. No B series is better, etc.... Remember this is for the ZC engine.

No offense, but wouldn't just going to the zc resource be much easier? There's a ton of information there, and you wouldn't be wasting bandwidth here.

notice he said "**** done", Im guessing hes not stock and could be running 12's for all you know.

I ran a 15.1 with a 2.3 60' with a dohc zc with just i/e/gutted cat and gutted rear

Since this is the "official" ZC post I better get my input in so I can validated.

1. Blacktop dohc ZCs make 130ps...not hp, but ps. That's roughly 128hp
2. Browntop ZCs make 135ps...yes, more then the newer blacktops. And, no, I'm not talking about a teg d16a1.
3. The sohc ZC makes 120ps.
4. I don't see a "zed" in ZC. Fruity Canadians.

I thought the browntops were the weakest ZC engine.

Sorry, that's just not the case. If anything, it's the strongest. Better rods. Like I said, Browntop ZC does not equal D16a1:

You'll have to run it through a translation engine...if you're too lazy to do that, the power ratings are in regular numeric text halfway down the page.
