Default Lost control of my car today on I-95. Wanna know what I tried to do to regain control was correct

so i lost control of my car today on I-95 in RI in 5 lanes of traffic. a minivan who decided to drive away afterwards, came aggressively into my lane so i swerve to avoid. thats when my car started to swerve in a similar fashion as some people do when its snowy outside and in a open parking lot for fun, but this time was going across 3 lanes of traffic. what i did was turn the steering wheel the direction the car was moving, in hopes to straighten out. but everytime i did that the car will jump the opposite way. finally, the car pulled a 360 in the middle of 95 and was hit in the rear by a grand cherokee. are those situations completely helpless or could i have done something? this was my first accident since i got my license 4yrs from this coming X-mas. finally, would it have mattered if it was FW, RWD or AWD. i mean, would i have more control or less control with either one of those drivetrains? btw, my girlfriend and i are safe. no injuries. thanks to all who reply

sorry for the wreck , you did the best you can and only with experience will it get better, every situation is different, many times you are supposed to turn INTO the turn just as you did.

typically awd is better b/c one wheel can regain traction out of 4, in that case you would accelerate not brake, in hopes of getting traction and moving forward,

as a wise instructor once said, the best brake is the gas pedal sometimes.

no, i was referring to him walking under a fwd car. you even know what latter means? latter refers to the second of a set of persons or things, thus being fwd since it was second in the list. nice try though.

That is a creative excuse if I've ever heard one.

i think awd is better on snow/rain etc. but not on dry weather.. my brother was driving aggressivly up woodhaven blvd in queens ny like 80mph the turn was an uphill left turn, wasnt that serious of a turn and lost control of his 3000gt vr4.. his model came with all wheel steering with the sport mode engage.. i eat that same turn at around the same mph no problem. i guess it just depends on the car. the s2000 has beautiful handling. anywayz i feel sorry for you man.. i wish i can find dat lady and smack the **** outta her.. there was a time when i almost lost control on the jakie robinson.. it was kind of like i was drifting lol my car slide this way / so what i did was turn the wheel to the left and keept tapping the brakes.. god must of been with me that day cuz i gain control and was very close to smashing into the wall.. anywayz atleast you guys are safe

In a spin, both feet in. If you spun at highway speeds, its pretty much impossible to regain control when you have little room and other cars bumping you.
Unfortunately, it may have been better to just let the van bump you.

your brothers just a shitty driver with a boat for a car . the 3000gt is a LOT heavier than an integra or s2000, and thats the reason why he went ditch digging and you didnt. just look at the lotus elise; it could probably take that turn at 100 at not have a wheel slip, because the little booger only weighs around 1800 lbs.

Damn, next weekends a no-go for me. Basically this is the last weekend of the semester that I have open. The rest is going to be studying for finals, and final projects

Why would you reply to a 5-year old thread with nonsense?
