Hi guys
I am selling my JG header as in the sig below and someone emailed me asking for info on the 2.5" mod, their site doesnt say anything. I have emailed them and searched the archives. Most say its easily done and muffler shop can do it, so I was wondering of someone here had tried it at all and had part no's for the collector, where to buy and maybe some pics of how its done or the finished result...
Thanks in advance!

there is no part number or part you have to buy... you just have to cut the collector back to open up the exhuast flow. and reflange it with a 2.5" 2 bolt flange. ive done one before... makes a big difference..

cut behind the collector

I think the best person to ask about this would be Jeff... Unfortunately he is no longer an active member of H-T so the only way to reach him would be via e-mail...

The mod's done to the header arent too major but highly benificial... The original JG/E collector is cut off and a new 2.5 inch collector is welded on... A pretty simple, straight forward mod that resulted in some decent power gains over the unmod'd JG/E header... Rod (IBSpecHatch) from the H-T board has the original JG/E mod'd header and is pretty happy with it... His stock GSR motor with bolt ons (IB mod'd JG/E header included) makes about 175WHP...
Like I said though, for dyno sheets and further info and details go ahead and e-mail Jeff, hell be more than happy to help you out

I had one of these a while back, it was nice, made good tq over my jdm 4-1. Basically all thats done to it is the collector is cut and a 2.5inch one is welded on. I no longer have mine, sold it for a SMS, best thing ive ever done

Howbout the dc h22a header?Has anyone dont this mod yet? What kind of results were found???
alright, i would not recommend going into a muffler shop and have them weld a pipe. it won't work. the best way to do it, is to send it to jeff, let him do the mod and have him send it back to you. the mod is about $75-85.
I believe 2.5 in pipe needs to be perfectly bent into the header, so that it doesn't angle in a awkward position. then the o2 bung and flange is welded on.
sorry for the big pics, but here it is.

SWEEEEEEEET PIC......Thanks for that, bro! Now, I can see what is being done.
I would send it to him, but I was gonna go JRSC and use the 3" race pipe. Now, I am hoping someone will buy the header and pipe forcing me to go turbo

Any muffler shop can do it.
Import Bulders actually did my friends header wrong, welded it on at an angle so that when he went to the muffler shop they had to cut and reweld it.
SO, he had to pay 80 dollars twice.
IB still gets
but cutting and welding a pipe is no special task and I would recommend doing it at a muffler shop so that they can make it line up correctly
