how do you know if your new brake pads are "glazed"? Carbotech Bobcats. OEM discs.
Bought some Carbotech pads and turned the rotors. They dont feel as grabbing as would be expected. Have I not broken them in proper and what does it feel like to have glazed pads/rotors?
You need to take the pads out and see if they are glossy and smooth, if so glazed over.
Light sanding to remove the glaze. Turn your rotors and disc them also. After that go easy on your brakes for a couple hundred miles. That should do the trick.
hey dan, i glaze my ROTORS over about every 15k. u knwo im hard on them
u need to be easy on the pads until they are broken in, or u will be only grabbing a part of the rotor since the pad will not fully be contacting. just look on your rotors for purple/blue streaks, and if there are you need to pull it apart. i usually scrub the pad on the asphalt, easy and pain free
good luck

Oh yeah, I forgot about the Hard Spots. These are darkish looking specks on the suface of the pad contact area. These are created by impurities in the rotor burning during excessive heat (hard braking). There usually circular, bluish/gold, glassy looking in appearence. Throw your rotors away if you see this on the rotors and get some new ones.
