We never got all of our issues sorted out, but Blake finished a very impressive 5th in ITC with the car giving up 2 to 3 car lengths on every trip down the back straight. On every lap Blake would lose ground down the back straight and get it back between turns 1 and 5. Positions 3-6 were tight the entire race and not decided until the last lap. It was a good one.
We decided to drop out of the enduro for multiple reasons, the biggest being that the motor was still "iffy."
ITA was insane. Stretch's motor blew early leaving the race to Fowler, Evans, Muresan, and Serra (all Hondas). They swapped positions every lap (nearly every turn) with Fowler coming out on top followed by Serra and Muresan. Had they run another lap the results could have changed completely. It was that wild!!!
Congrats to the OPM guys for yet another ITA win. Somebody knows how to build a fast CRX.
Adam and Bowie (Miata Boy) had excellent races as well. I think they finished 5th and 6th but I'm not positive. They had a fantastic race-long fight with each other.
Everyone was still in impound when I left, so I don't think results are offial yet.

we were watching just at the entry of turn 5 and blake was flying thru that section and looked faster than the guys he was chasing up the hill but I guess thats where the power stopped.
Good luck tommorow

So Scott, did Blake drive your car? I didn't see you name on the qualifying or final results sheets... Don't know why, but I had the impression that you would be driving, too.

The ITA race was all the more stunning in that on the final lap, Fowler went 4 off in 1 and gave up first, dropped to 3rd. (Impressive that he only lost 2 places) Then, he managed to get them back on the final lap to take the checker by a car length. That was wild to watch.
Scott, next year you are required by law to come and play with us. No "I gotta works," no "I wish I coulds" - its the law
Apparently we (Bowie, Brooks, Quaderer and I) had a very similar dice to the front four (Evans, Fowler Jr., Muresan, Serra). The track was fast from my perspective and there were some really quick times being turned by all (this I believe is typical for the ARRC because of the temps) and I know for Bowie, Alex and myself that we all went faster than we ever had before which was tres cool. As for our 4-way fight, I think it could have gone any way and I don't think any of us knew which order we'd finish until we headed down T12 on the last lap (and even then I am not sure anyone "knew"). All I can say is that this was just a fantastic weekend and fantastic competitors from practice day through to the checkered flag. Bowie and I (don't want to speak entirely on his behalf but on this I feel pretty certain) both were so blown away by what fun it was to race with Jamie and Robert and if possible, I think we'd both love to head up to Mid-O for July 4th to continue the fun we had with the CenDiv guys. I can't say enough how much I enjoyed racing with these guys and can only hope the feeling was shared by all.
Really truly a tremendous weekend and very big thanks to ATL-SCCA for putting on our "Big Show" as they did a wonderful job. And also many many thanks to the great sponsors of this event as that really makes it quite a neat experience for folks like myself that aren't accustomed to such a great offering and presence (even if some guys chose to be in Vegas instead of Braselton
). Speaking of sponsors, I think most of us that ran 'em can say that the new Hoosier R3S04s were just fantastic.
Unfortunately I couldn't stick around for the Enduros but congratulations to metalman, Fowler Jr. and Chuck on their romp in ITA. I am still not sure the official results of the ARRC ITB race but LTB and Pinky Bowles had great results and had moved up last I heard. Really a good results weekend for the skidpad - what fun and as always, hanging out w/ the Muresans, LTB and the Pucketts just makes for a great time.
Now Towne, Zsolt, Shultz, go and get your licenses and join the fun next year

At the level that you guys were running, I am humbled and oh-so not ready to have my a$$ utterly handed to me in ITA next year.
Great race everyone.

Wow what a weekend, but what a RACE. Definitely the hardest and most fun race I’ve done up to date. The only thing that came remotely close to this kind of close racing was a SM race I ran down at sebring a year ago. Similar 4 car battle swapping positions with Wilding and (Joe) Evans for most of the race, but definitely lacked the intensity of the ARRC. From the millisecond I saw Bob S. get on the gas at the start, to the checkered flag, it was ALL out and I left nothing on the table. Heck I sold the table, too. And the feeling of being able to go all out like this is just incredibly satisfying.
The race itself was a great experience for me. I’ve never started from the front row before, so that was an experience in itself. The race was basically a 20 lap qualifying session, but with the addition of swapping positions regularly. I’ve already watched the in-car tape three times and feel the need to see it again. With only about 2 seconds spread across our group of four (Serra, Evans, Fowler, and myself) at the checkered, it was basically a question of who was leading the group at the end of the 20th lap. Tom F. showed his veteran experience in being at the front when it counted, and also in making a really nice save in the dirt outside of T1 while leading that just about everyone thought would put him out of contention for the podium. The only thing that could have made it even better might have been if Stretch’s oil filter didn’t break. His WC program kept the 240sx hibernating for a whole year in the corner of the garage and was basically running last year’s pace. The difference was that everyone else got quicker this year and this showed in us being able to stick to his speed in qualifying and during the first 4 laps he ran in the race. Hopefully next year he’ll be trouble free again like he has been in the past. As for us, I’ve learned a lot from racing with these really fast guys and we’re already making plans where we need to focus on tweaking the car for next year.
Having watched Adam’s tape, it looks him and Bowie had a similar 4 car duel going on behind. Too bad Mersereau and Greene had that incident, or else your race would have been that much better! Adam, congrats on getting a top 5 and I’ve also never seen Bowie so happy even after being disqualified from a race!

man, just incredible fun! I got busted for sound...the car just got louder and louder all weekend, but who cares...that was just way fun.
Tons of cool people, good beer, good food, and the best dice of my life!
.16 separating 5th from 7th at the finish close enough for ya?
Congrats to Tom Fowler. If anyone deserves an ARRC win, it is that guy!

Understood! In my own defense, you do know WHAT I'm working on so maybe I'll get them to write me a note for my absence.
Next year I need to try to hit a the Labor Day weekend and ARRC down there.
I really laugh when I hear people refer to ARRC as "just another regional". Everyone who's ever been there realizes it's SO much more than that. It has all of the importance of the Runoffs without the politics and bullshit. Everyone seems to pull something else out and go just a little faster than they ever have.
