Default built b16 vs. mild lsvtec

here's another question for you folks. what would be the best way to go? i have a b16 at the moment in my sol so would it be better to build that to say, 12.5:1 with je pistons and eagle rods or go with an ls/vtec with 11:1 compression??? a buddy of mine says that i should stick with building the b16 because otherwise i wouldn't get traction with the ls/vtec, i think he's full of shi* what do you guys think???

I would go with the B16 just because.

Most of the time you will have problem with an ls/vtec setup.....With oil and what not, but i would stay natural...b16. But i mean this is just my opinion. I know a few that make damn near 200 at the wheels, still no torque...but you cant have evrything

lsvtec will definitly outperform the b16... youll have more torque...as they say no replacement for displacement... as for traction problem... your going to face that either way you go... i used to have a b16 then swapped for gsr... definitly felt more torque in mid range... if i were you go lsvtec... people that have oil leaks on their lsvtec obviously did a half *** job... an integra from AEBS ran lsvtec for 5 years and two close friends of mine has had it for 3 years...people that tell you lsvtec is inefficient has never had it or never had it done right...and most lsvtecs will out perform gsr... go to c-speedracing.com they do an lsvtec build up...it will help you out in what parts to get to make a high revving lsvtec... good luck

oil problems I think not. if it is built correctly you should have no problems.

I'd prefer the extra torqe, go LSV.

i think the b16 is a good way to gay...less hastle too.. I mean they call it a frankenstien for a reason...It was never meant to be. Some one who couldnt afford a gsr created in there back yard.I mean dont get me wrong ...I have seen some that rip but i just think it will be more reliable to build a b16...and rev the **** out of it!!

I had two b16s milled head and all.... But I wouldn't go back from my lsv that I have right now. The torque is noticeable and well worth it... it's fast!

That mild ls/vtec won't stay mild for too long, I think eventually you'll want to build it up so might as well just go ls/vtec. Might as well go 11.5 for street too. As far as traction, that can be worked on.
