Default Can't believe I failed Emissions Test

I went to have my 93 LS emissions tested the other day and failed. The state screwed up my paperwork, I passed emissions in January and had to take them again this month. I haven't done any mods to my car during this time so what the f***. This sucks, now I have 2 weeks to fix the problem and retest! The worst part is the tool that tested my car couldn't drive stick and totally ground first gear!

The results were:

Hydrocarbons std: 0.80 mine 0.95
Carbon monoxide std: 15.0 mine 14.9

I have a k&n, DC Sport Header and HKS cat. back, car purrs like a kitten. I cleaned the k&n the night before emissions, I don't think that would affect the results though.

If anybody can help me figure out the cause so I can correct the problem and pass this damn thing then you Kick ***.

you're almost there, a bottle of techron will probably do the trick. are you about time for a tune up? Maybe you should have it done. good luck

Change the plugs, check the timing, change the oil and fill it up with some techron, that should get you there.

Sounds like you both think the gas quality is an issue, I'll definitely take your advice on that. I just changed the plugs recently and oil is always changed every 1500 miles but didn't change the wires, should I always change the wires when I change the plugs? Wires are NKG, pretty good quality, a bit old though and I didn't have anything available to test them at the time I changed the plugs.
