Only 2-3 months and it's that bad. definitely get a camber kit and alignment done together.

if you just get an alignment then that will fix your toe and your wear won't be as bad and you'll just have to rotate more often...typically if you are lower than 2 inches you'll definitly need a camber kit because you'll have over 1.5 neg. camber and if you aren't lower less than 2 inches you SHOULD be in that +/- 1.5 degree range, but all cars are different....my .02 cents

I would definitely get a kit since they are like 50 bucks for the front on eBay. But I would get one if you are lowered more than 1".

A camber kit is a good investment. I bought mine for a little over $100. I got the polyurethane Ingall's camber kit. When I installed the camber kit and took it to get aligned, the dude at the shop told me that he couldn't put my car to spec's because my control arms would hit my inner fender. The camber kit somewhat corrected my negative camber, but not to spec, so I will still get some camber wear. I have H&R sport springs on my integra. I definately felt an improvement in handling even though my car isn't to stock spec's.

camber kits are camber kits pretty much. Some offer more adjustment, but for a 2" drop or less, just about any kit will do. So try and look for the good deals. I had Eibach in the front $25 for both, and Ingalls in the rear for $125 for both. This was on my 2001 Civic. It should in no way cost $500. If you are talkin about install and all that, just install it yourself...it really isnt hard at all to install a camber kit.

Yep. My car's lowered 2.0 in the rear and 2.5 in the front and my tires wear out evenly in the middle when they do. I have no camber kit.

*shrugs*

Yes, get a camber kit. At fist I was too cheap to get one but one day I started having a hard time controlling my car. I would be driving straight and a truck or crosswind would catch me and toss the car left and right. Anyways, I took it to the tire shop and I had worn the tires down to the cord on the inside, even though they seemed fine as you looked at them.
Now, I have a camber kit and 5 months later tires are still in good condition, Just normal wear & tear.

youll eventually save more in tires than the cost of a camber kit, just buy one.

You can run over -2 deg. camber and not need a camber kit. Why did you not get an alignment immediately after lowering? An alignment is always required any time ride height changes.

I personally don't care to deal with the hassles of a camber kit, having to get it set when I get an alignment, have it possibly slip, having it possibly hit the inner fender seam, or maybe squeeking. I'm lowered 3" w/ -2.5 camber and my tire wear isn't that bad. I went 15K miles before I started noticing wear on the inside edge.

def get a camber kit; but PatrickGSR is right; Ive had my camber kit slip out of place which means your alignment is fucked again

I got ingalls front kit; and did a custom washer and longer bolt camber for the rear and had no probs
And also when your installing the camber kit in the front BEFORE you get it aligned make sure you can pull the kit all the way out and all the way in to make sure the control arms clear. I had to shave like mm's off each side of one of my control arms but other then that it was a easy clean install
(Im rollin on Tein SS (damper=10 front 8 back, Ingalls camber kit)

did you read what I said? With proper toe-in settings I got 25K more miles out of my old tires even w/ more than -2 camber, and no camber kit. For me that was only a year, but for others it would probably be alot more. IMHO the hassle and headache of camber kits is not worth the money when proper alignment (adjusting toe-in) will solve most problems.

To me, if you cannot get by w/o a camber kit, then your car is probably lowered beyond the point of having functional gains in handling and is probably only lowered for looks. *mind you I am not putting down anyone that has a camber kit* I'm only saying if you MUST have one then I believe that. Either that or you just want a camber kit to ADD negative camber for racing purposes, which is all good *on a race track*

I want to lower my '01 gsr. I am planning to use H&R sports(1.75"/1.5").Most every post I read about getting a camber kit has about an even number of "yeah get one, they save your tires" to " just get an alignment and good toe in, camber kits are a waste of money" responses. I want perfect alignment, toe in, camber, tire wear, everything just as perfect as the stock set up. No squeking, banging, rubing, slipping, and definatley no hitting the fender. Is this possible? Thanks, James

what is your idea of perfect alignment? If it includes straight up 0 camber, I would say no that is NOT perfect alignment, as handling will suffer if the tires are straight up. Somewhere between -1.5 and -2 is probably a good number and will greatly aid handling. If you rotate your tires every 3K-5K miles and have exact factory toe-in settings, you'll be fine.

1.4* of camber here and no camber kit. Its not needed if your not slammed, Im as low as Id ever want to go. I have 0 toe and my tires do not wear abnormally fast.

Toe is your enemy not camber so much.
