Default bad squeaking noise.....help!!!!

im driving to school today and as i step on my brakes, i hear this horrid squeaking coming from somewhere in my car. I rolled down my windows and i hear it again, and it sounds like it is coming from closer to the firewall than my brakepads........im gonna go out on a limb and say its the master cylinder or some tubes gone bad.......can anyone help me out????

if it happens only when you brake then i guess it's the brakes. inspect the brakes.

it sounds like i need new pads, but the sound is more prolonged and closer to me (like its coming from right behind) hence, my question about the master cylinder. is there any connections/hoses i can check???? or just use wd-40 cuz that solves most squeaks???

squeaks happen when mechanical parts rub on eachother with out lubrication. The bak master cylinder has not mechanical parts to worry about but only seals that don't do their job anymore. check if the brake pedal is the problem, I honestly think you're brakes are the problem. Just check your brakes. If they're still ok, while it's still on jackstands start engine and drive the wheels. Apply the brakes and have someone listen for the sound. good luck

no you can do it without any problems just dont try to make the car go 100 mph up in the air and you will be fine
