Default Compressing valves DOHC Vtec w/ Northern Tool co. compressor??????

Has anyone seen or used this tool? A buddy of mine ordered to try it out. Does it work or is it to good to be true.

I mean, man what a time saver to leave the head on the block, when changing valve springs.

Check it out......

It works. My homemade one that looks exactly like that worked. So I'm going to assume that one does too.

I have used the Snap On one that is just like it several times and it works great once you get the hang of it.

How are you going about keeping the valves up?

works well. def worth the $. same as the snap-on, and ~1/2 price. you can change the valvetrain w/out pulling the head, but you'll either need a fitting for an airhose (on a compressor) to thread into the sparkplug hole(s), to fill each cyl with air to keep the valves up when you pull the springs/retainers/keepers, or i've also read that some people have had luck dropping in some thick nylon cord though the sparkplug hole(s) (leaving one end out for easy retrieval) and putting the piston at TDC so that the cord holds the valves up. a good tip for installing the new retainers and keepers is to put the keepers in the retainers before compressing the springs over the valvestems, so that when you compress the springs with one hand, the keepers will already be in position, so you can more easily set them with your other hand, instead of fumbling with them one at a time.

Air compressor adapter for the spark plug holes is how I will keep the valves in place.

With a little grease on the keepers and another set of hands it will be a pretty easy job.
