did search, but need 2 know whats the difference in part #'s btwn usdm & jdm ecu (p30)
okay i searched for this, got some results and based on these threads:
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=552617
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=461585

i'm just getting that the only performance difference is difference in fuel maps, and the speed limiter. also physical sizes are different. i just wanted someone to confirm that jdm ecus have different part #'s. i saw in one of the posts that they did, but i just need a 2nd opinion. i need to pass smog and would like to get a p30 ecu with the same usdm part number.

Besides from everything that you have stated already..everything looks correct. I passed California smog on my GSR using a jdm p30 ecu. Out of all p30 ecu's i've seen...the jdm ones do have the smaller casing...its the size of the si ecu's everyone tries to sell (p2t). Hope that helps. And as for the numbers, it should start with 37820-p30- (followed by a capital letter and 2 numbers). One of the threads you posted explains it.
