you could get yourself a KN drop in filter that way you can clean it when it gets dirty

it does affect horsepower because horsepower depends upon how much air you have going through that engine. so more air will equal more horsepower (roughly, in most cases). K&N is def the brand i would go for

I am guessing you still have the stock oem air box.

you can go wrong with oem honda replacement, factory

K&n is good but there's couple things i want you to know before buying it

1)they are reuseable/rewashable(need to get addition K&N recharge kit, which clean and reoil the filter element)

pro: you can clean your filter when you feel like it, keep it clean all the time=better gas mileage

con: the dxmn thing cost like 40 buck, the recharge kit is 13buck plus tax in kragen. I highly recommend to change the filter once a year, yes you can recharge it but it need to be replace. Some car equiped with MAF can get fouled up with K&N's oil, lucky honda have map instead.

APEX'i filter is the best one out there, better filtering than K&N/AEM filter and with the same air flow rating as HKS' super mega flow filter.

too bad they are 70 buck each, can't wash/clean
