Default Transmission Woes Continues After Multiple Warranty Repairs

Do I have a lemon or what?

- I've had my clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, and t/o bearing replaced twice...once at ~16,000 miles and again at ~28,000 miles.

- The 1st replacement was due to a clicking sound everytime the pedal was at the point of absolute engagement/disengagement. I also had a raspy type noise during the full range of pedal travel during engagement/disengagement. They found that one of the springs on the clutch disc was damaged. FYI, I have never dragged the car.

- The sounds went away for about ~12,000 miles but the raspy type noise eventually came back. The diagnosis this time was a bad t/o bearing but just to be sure, they replaced that along with the clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel again.

- The raspy sound went away for about ~10,000 miles but now it's back and it brought along another sound. There seems to be some "grumbling" noise in my tranny that goes away when I press in the clutch. The sound becomes more audible when I start the A/C. So they did the following work on my car...
1.) All the ball bearings were replaced. This did not solve issue.
2.) They replaced the input shaft assembly and this also didn't fix the issue.

I got a friend as my Service Rep and he's really good friends with the acura tech that's been working on my car so I'm sure they're not trying to pull a fast one on me.

What else could be causing this noise when the clutch pedal isn't pressed?

well if i was you i would be checking your states lemon laws and see what you can do about it. its all different by state but if it meets certain guide lines they have to compensate you for the damages. ie new car or buy back from you

I'm more concerned about what else is in motion and/or engaged when the clutch is depressed. Anybody know other than the input shaft?

You have an input bearing noise. It is unrelated to your pass problem. It was just time for the bearing to fail.
