Default The plan for the Tank next year????

Don't get me wrong, I love H2 but the competition in H1 is really starting to draw on me, so what should I do?

The car is making great power, about 210+WHP, and 157ftlb of TQ, thats with H2 legal prep.. There is A LOT of potential for more power there..

Yes, the car is heavy, It has a 100lbs of lead bolted into it right now, with a full load of fuel to reach 2725 after the race, I can drop 150lbs in about 3 minutes, and thats just for starters..

2725 = Min weight with driver
-100+lbs for weight in the car
-50lbs for less fuel
-35lbs for CF hood
-25lbs for CF trunk
-50lbs for lexan
-50lbs for various other crap

= 2415lbs, with driver... Can it do it??

And the brakes will somehow magically start working if the car's in H1 ?

Did they set the minimim weight for H1 yet? If it's 2200ish, then I wouldn't bother.

210whp is good - but will it be enough (even if you can get the car down to a weight that can compete against the Civics)? I doubt it, especially if the K motors are as fabulous as people predict. Or, do you have the loot to do an H1 build-up?

What about selling the tank and starting a new H1 car? Is the tank ITS legal - if so, then your market is slightly larger than ECHC.

Anyways, I voted H2 simply because the tank is already a proven car in that class.

I say, if you can afford to change tires, brakes, and all the other stuff that's gonna break more often than it already does - go for it! I would personally try to figure out if the increased fun factor in racing in H1 is worth the increased agravation caused by running a car that is pushed further towards its limits. But then again, I often think too damn much! What do I know, I'm building a car for H4...

hi corey!

you get that car down to 2400 with driver; do the max porting work to the heads, add full racing cams, JDM hi-comp pistons, stand alone ecu, i'd expect you to see 260+ at the wheels. add 17" wheels and a 13" brake kit and i think you'd be "da man" to beat in H1. super super fast!

you are already spanking the hell out of me in H2 configuration, so i have no reason not to want to see you run in H1 config, and see how fast you really can go!!! do it, mang!!!

Well, if H1 doesn't work out, how easily could you convert it back to H2, and how much would it cost. It's a big investment to find out if it will be competitive or not. However, you have definately proven your car (and yourself) to be quite capable. I would say if the money is there to do what's required to run in H1, then go for it. However, if it looks like money would be an issue quickly in the season (ie wear and tear and replacement) I would continue on in H2, go for another championship

Please, H22 is where its at...
I can't remember a B series or STOOK that pulled on me at summit.. That with 2700lbs

Fastest H1 time at Summit.. I think a 1:25.9
Tank, at H2 prep.. 1:26.4

Dropping 300lbs would surely have me knocking on the door for 1:24s...

If I went into the motor more.. Well, I'm not telling...

do it the easy way, take the 150 lbs out of the car, sign up for H1 for a weekend, and see what happens..if you are .5 off h1 and summit, the 150 lbs may do it for you .... or drop the weight, upgrade the brake system put bigger wheels and tires on and see how much a difference that makes

right now your car doesn't seem to break (much) while the h1 cars do and you are nearly as quick, don't trade more speed for more broken parts, it aint worth it

Yeah, drop the ballast and run H1 and see how it goes.

Or, as Morgan mentioned, you could use the Accord and keep the Prelude for H2.

Actually you are wrong about that. On Saturday's restart I had to lift coming into turn 1 behind you because I was closing at the end of the straight. I didn't take the inside pass because I promised I would let Jason by so you guys could fight for your championship.

Regardless, if your car had less weight, it wouldn't have happened.

The 260whp number is attainable, I know somebody who did it. It wasn't particularly reliable though with that much power. Also, how are you going to handle the axle situation?

Ah, I knew this was going to come up, I screwed myself on that restart.. I lifted the throttle huge out of T10 thinking it was waved off, opps..

I'm not looking for MAD HP numbers, I know that doesn't win ECHC races yet.. If I did "build" the motor, it would be quite mild. Maybe 230whp..

Axle Problem? I didn't know I have one. 2002 axles problem was solved, nothing broken since

Did you gain on Evans and myself on Saturdays start?

My point was that with more power, those 2002 problems could come back.

Nope, and I shouldn't! I gotta be hauling *** out of T10 to do that.. But I can't say you guys actually gained any time on me though, ever slightly if so..

It wasn't a power issue, only a suspension alignment/to much caster issues, I was putting the outer CVs in to much of a bind, hence they break

Yeah, the Civic doesn't have the high speed stability through the turns like the Prelude does. I speak from experience.

Gotcha. I thought it was because they couldn't handle the power.

I voted for H1. We've had an awesome time watching you duke it out with H1 all year, beating half of the field sometimes. Try to find a way to "test" in H1 without making your car completely illegal to go back to H2. Or go for the plunge and dont look back. Either way, I think you will be right up there from what I have seen this season.

looking at the lap times posted on the website, and then considering the following modifications that would be available:

- brake upgrades
- battery to the back/floor
- ram air through the headlight
- Standalone / some kind of ECU (isn't your A/F plot off-the-scale rich?)
- some Type S slugs with a milled head, cams, and a TB, and maybe let endyn touch up the manifold (they did a great job on one I had)

I'd say it'd be definately worth it, and nothing too drastic that couldn't be reversed.

A couple of you guys have recomended bigger brakes, just so everyone is on the same page, my braking issues at summit had nothing to do with direct braking components (pads/rotors/fluid).. Something else is wrong, and I think I have either a Bias valve issue, or something clogging my brakes lines..

I would stay on 15" wheels and stock brakes, maybe just upgrade calipers..
