DRAG 3. Everybody is gonna tell you to go with the DRAG3. Power is always there, and you'll love hearing the BOV. NOS is kinda touchy if you don't have the filters cleaned right or the botle temp right or whatever.. Definitely go turbo.

Well guys, personally I'm not in agreement of any F/I with any b18c5. To me the R should be an all motor beast. But, if these were the only choices for me, then I would probably choose nitrous. The turbo with an R just makes me cry.

Obviously you haven't seen some of the numbers turbo type R's are putting down, cause tuned correctly they can have 300whp @ 8psi. How many 300whp n/a R's do you know of?

Obviously you took my post the wrong way. I never said you couldn't get a lot of horsepower with turbo. Of course you'll get a shitload of power w/ turbo. But like I said in my post, in my opinion , I would never F/I any b18c5. If I had an R then I would go N/A all the way. It was just my opinion man.

How are turbos safer man? They are both forms of forced induction. Both will "mess up" your engine if not tuned/used/installed correctly. So please tell me how turbo is safer than nitrous?

well, it seems to me that getting all that power at once would be less safe. at least with turbo you get power constantly or more gradual relative to "NOS".

Well man, turbo works with the same concept. Once at full boost it can reach up to 100+ hp. The nitrous at wot(when activated with the microswitch) can achieve the same power. So, in either scenario, both would be stressful on the engine.

My comment was not on the total amount of power achieved, it was on what is more safe. You have spool up time with a turbo before you reach full boost, not immediate activation. That is why I say a turbo is gradual relative to nitrous.

Well, nitrous can work in the same way. There is a product called the Jacob's nitrous Mastermind. Check here http://www.jacobselectronics.com/pro...trols/nmm.htm. It works for nos the same way as would the gradual increase for turbo. I'm not trying to be a dick man, but, I just dont want you to have a biased opinion on nitrous. Just because some dumbshits watched fast and furious and installed a 150 shot nitrous single fogger system on their stock car and blew their motors does not mean that nitrous is not safe.

both systems require perfect tuning of a/f but a turbo motor can make alot more power with out putting as much stress on the engine internals..Its hard to explain with out pictures but i will try.. This is becuase of the way combustion occurs when boost is involved.. An engine takes the most abuse when the piston is at top dead center, but when boost is incolved most of the power is made after that when the piston/rod are in the down stroke.. Its more complicated then just that though

but i vote for turbo, Drag3 is a great kit, there are a couple typeR's making 300whp+ on 8psi and they all ran mid 12's on street tires @ around 112-115mph.. thats way faster then u will go with a nitrous set up..

So then basically you are saying that I can't hit 12's on a car with nitrous??? It's not all about horsies man. Alot of factors determine what your timeslips will be man. Just cause you have 300+ horses doesn't mean you can get fast *** times. If you can't drive worth **** then you wont be fast. Also the fact that boosting on an R would be pretty shitty on that tranny it has. The high compression would also play a big factor of the turbo. You wont be able to boost as high as you would on another car with a lower compression motor as safely. Dude, I'm not saying that it's not good to have turbo, and I'm not saying that you can't get fast *** times, but in my opinion it's just that I wouldn't f/i a R. Like I said before to maxim, i'm not trying to be a dick but I dont want everybody to biased toward nos and turbo.

Also may I add, that I believe Rick Merrick, which is sponsored by nitrous works just hit 10's buddy.

the TypeR motor is the best period, with all things considered.. If NA is your thing, its the best for that, if turbo or nitrous is your thing its also the best for that.. if my goal was 13's i would go NA, but 12's or faster i would want to go turbo.. theres nothing wrong with the tranny on the R, its short yes but he could always switch to an LS tranny and make some money back.. the high compression is good for one because it helps spool up the turbo faster, but u have to have PERFECT fuel management.. its not that hard to put some 9:1 JE pistons in there.. i was simply replying to your ? about why is turbo safer then nitrous, i am not disriminating your opinion..
