No idle. new head install crower 404s
Well i just put a new head on my block. crower 404s, springs retainers, crazy port and bigger valves
well the car starts but it dies right after unless u hold the gas in
it wont hold an idle at all. like at stop signs and stuff i hafta hold the gas in all the time
plus it runs like **** u floor it and it doesnt move its a sled feels like its being restriced or held back and it backfires occasionally
a few friends said im not getting enuf fuel. do u think thats right
so i just baught and SAFC and a fuel pump. hopefully it helps i know ur really not supposed to run with out an SAFC but i figured the car woulda at least ran better then what it does
any thoughts please let me know

If it is fuel, you also need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. You crank up the pressure with that, and use the SAFC to tune it just right. I don't think you'll need the fuel pump.
no check engine lights that i can remember but i havent ran the car for more then like 10 minutes because it runs like **** really.
i havent had time to put the afc in yet. hopefully today i will let u know
any good suggestions to set it too for teh 404s and a built head and bottom end?

I have the same problem ...its either your fuel or a vacuum line..,make sure all the spark plugs are ok as well as your spark plug wires are plugged in correctly...
what type of ecu are you running? regular or hondata .. ect...?

It sounds to me like a simple problem, you would get a check engine light if you car was running rich....i do so.. it cant be that....i had a idling problem before, and running ruff but it was my stupid check valve...Which has to do with vacuum....Was that chip in before anything was done?? was ther car running right then?? Because you are either not getting enough fuel, your timing is f'd up,or you forgot to hook up a vacuum line back up, a vacuum line makes a hell of a difference ! after you get a afc its not all great...i have one , you still gave to tune it, so after just plugging it up ..it might not even idle right, and be too rich or lean..
try the easy stuff first...it could be as dumb as a stupid line...for 5 bucks.....let me know what you try and what happens (sounds, idle)..

yeah thanks
my timing is good. and the chip was in the car b4 i put the head on and it ran fine b4 that.
so its either a vacum line or something to do with fuel. when i get the afc in my friend is tuning it hes tuned alot from NAs to boosted. so hopefully he will be able to get it ok.
thanks guys i will keep u updated

well i got it in and it runs
it runs pretty good just needs more tuning but it still dies out occasionally.
sometimes when im at stop signs it wont hold an idle it just completely dies. now eveytime i noticed this was when my CEL was on. and its throwing a O2 sensor code (it was throwing this CEL b4 i put the cams in) no do u think becuase its throwing that code is the reason why it will die out?
thanks alot

This may sounds silly, but check your timing. If the timing is 180 degrees out the car won't run. Just a though...if it's not that, then, as mentioned, probably a vaccum source or possibly too much fuel.
try to adjust your idle screw on the throttle body.
the 404's hardly idle so you might need adjust it up a little more to get it to idle somewhat decent......
