Default EGR valve removed, yet no code?

With everyone's help here I got my project car running great (miswired MAP sensor.) Many people guessed my drivability problem was my missing EGR valve in the IM, which leads to my question. When I read engine codes, it did NOT show the EGR as having a problem - why? I know it's code #12... Could it be that it'll come on at a later time after driving a while?

The engine is a 95 H22A1 with stock P13 ECU.

Yeah okay... that's what I suspected. So I might still have a drivability issue but I just haven't "provoked" it yet.

Thanks for the input.

Error code aside, how was your drivability without it?

Okay... looks like I really should put it back in. Hopefully the member here who said he'd send me the parts does so...
