Default sway bar questions.. i searched

any info from autox would be great as i plan to get into these events this spring..

my current suspension setup is:

5 way tokico illumina shocks
skunk2 coilovers
JDM ITR rear sway bar
front and rear strut bars
21mm Civic Si front sway bar

now thing is, i have a chance to get a jdm itr front sway bar that is 25mm (i think) for a decent price.. will this front sway bar help me? i drove a friends hatch w/ ST front and rear sway bars and its was excellent.. will my car handle the same w/ the front bar?? thanks

and as for the suspension setup how is this setup for a starter on a autox track? thanks

i'm not sure there's any real way to tell whether that front sway will help you or not without more information.

if it's that good of a deal, buy it, hold on to it, and drive some. there is no single formula for auto-x success, so go out and figure out what needs to be tuned out of your car (understeer? body roll? low end torque ?) and once you have a clearer idea of what you want, you'll get much more constructive help.

good luck!

I have a nearly identical setup. Are you experiencing too much understeer? I know my car is pretty nuetral and predictable. I'm also running -1.5 degrees camber up front. Also, have you played around with the dampening settings on the struts? I usually run a 4 up front and 5 in the back.

Hey if you find out what it does for you be sure to share with the rest of us.

what spring rates are you running in front and back?

the sway bar will lessen the body roll, which comes in handy. but it might also make you push so there's a tradeoff.

strut tower bars i'm not a big believer in, c-pillar cars def. seem like a waste of money. i'm not sure you need that much more rigidity, or if that should be a priority per se. but i'm not familiar with civvies so, my opinion should be taken with a grain of salt.

- if you havent even gone to any events yet then dont muck with the car. go out there and have fun and learn to drive, attend a novice clinic if its offered.
