Default a 93 vx d16 vtec-e motor in a 91 dx hb?

i know this is kind of a stange swap, and not a good choice for performance, but more of a reliability issue...

this guy wants me to swap a 93 vx d16 motor into a 91 dx hb...

1. is or isn't the 91 dx dual port injection?
2. if so, wouldn't i have to convert it to multi port before the swap?
3. i thought the 88-91 dx's were a 4spd tranny, he says its a 5, maybe an si?
4. either way both of these trannies should bolt right up to the d16, right?

the main reason for this swap, is mileage, the dx has 282,000mi. and he has a vx swap from a previous car, and it has around 80k...

any help would be good.

ohh...duhh...my bad....yeah the vx is a d15bxx something....personally i told the guy swapping this motor in, is pretty pointless...i'm trying to convince him into getting a d16z6(ex) or d16a6(si), cuz i reall don't want to do it for nothing...hopefully he'll change his mind, cuz you can find a d16z for anywhere from 200-450, which isn't much at all, and it will be well worth it...

Actually it's a D15Z1. It would not be worth it to install one into the CRX unless you are really desperate for a motor.

All 88-91 Civic/CRX DX models are DPFI.

You will have to convert to MPFI if you plan to use an MPFI ECU.

The DX models are a 5spd, The STD models are a 4spd. The 88-91 DX tranny has the same gearing 1-5 as the Si, but a different final drive.

The tranny will bolt to any SOHC D Series motor made from 88-00.
