Default My motor sporatically "cuts" but not enough to die. please help.

It's cold now and when I start my car I'll have to hold the rpms at 1100 manualy for a bit over a minute before it will idle on it's own without dying.

Also. While I'm on the freeway (or just driving) and everything's up to temp occasionally it will feel like hit a rev limiter real quick and then continue on normally. Almost as if the fuel is momentarily cut. I replaced my cap and rotor, cleaned and gapped spark plugs, replaced coil and ignitor (from previous problems), and there are no codes. I would like to get this problem fixed before I get left out to dry when crossing one of the bridges.

I'm wondering if maybe I have some moisture in my gas tank?

The fuel filter is only 7 months old.

For diagnostic purposes.. this is my setup:
88 crx si
B16
skunk mani and aem fuel rail
JG 68mm TB
ITR valvetrain
OBD0 setup.

please help and thenk you all very much in advance.

I used to have the same problem. I just changed my spark plugs and wires and mine ran fine after that. (how do your injectors look?) You might want to spray some carbeurator cleaner into ur TB while the car is running to clean out ur injector system of carbon and junk. Most cans come with complete details on how to do this if you dont already know. That also helped out on the power side of mine..Just a little hint there

GOOD LUCK!

Does your battery light come on on the dash at all?

I had the same issues with my setup, and I THINK it was a dead cell in my battery not allowing enough voltage for the coil to spark properly... Haven't driven it since, though so I couldn't tell you if that was it or not.

I will check my battery but it is only 1.5 years old.

I will also try the TB cleaner and see if it helps.

Anyone heard of that stuff called "heet" that supposedly rids your fuel system of moisture? I thought I'd give that a try.

Tried the "heet" and I thought the problem was fixed... turned out I was wrong.

Sometimes I go a whole trip without having a problem.. then sometimes (like today) it acutally died and wouldn't start for a bit.. I had to crank the motor for a few minutes before it would fire up again. I'm wondering.. Do fuel pumps go bad? or do fuel filters have a shorter life than anticipated..

my fuel pump has 171,000 miles on it..
Fuel filter has 40,000 miles on it.

Any suggestions would be very appreciated. Thank you in advance.
