tape is alot cheaper

oh also... the headlight covers would be pointless, the reason for the tape is to keep the track clean, not to protect your headlights - so if a rock zings your headlight, its contents wont be deposited on the track to cut someone else's tire.

If you're worried about protecting the front of your car during an HPDE look into a clear plastic protective 'bra'.

If you're that worried about damaging the exterior of your car, then track events and road racing probably aren't for you.

the tape isnt there to protect the lights, its just to prevent the glass from shattering onto the track, ripping tires and flinging back into cockpits, especially dangerous for open wheel formula cars... if a 1oz rock is in the air and youre traveling 100mph, tape aint gonna do anything for protection.

I think you should be at Pomona or Palmdale, not Willow or Fontana.

It's most likely vinyl.....tape is the way to go if you need to retain the headlight/turn signal lenses....

What does the location where you drive have to do with anything?

Somehow headlights or more susceptible to damage out west than in the midwest or east coast??

Willard, I think that is a replacement "part", and not a cover... But I may be wrong.

as the examples on the RTR rsx or that s2k, im looking for 'caps' ... im not trying to use tape ... because i have shattered a headlamp before ... i am trying to eliminate that possibility ... i do not want to put clear film over them ... those stating i belong on a dragway of some sort shud reach over and kiss there own *** ... cuz i dont wanna waste my time for you to kiss mine ... if no one is able to locate a shop or place to get them ... just say so ...

A cap or cover wont help your case - because if a rock hits that, it will still shatter and litter the track with shards that can cut someone else's tire.

You've got as good a chance at getting your windshield shattered as you do losing a headlight lens. The risk is probably less than driving down the highway.

Hmm, you could possibly purchase some GTO,etc covers and tape them up. That way you get protection, and they won't litter the track if they get hit. Just an idea.
