The problem you might find is most alignment places that might put you up on the machine, might not get a reading. When you hit a certain point, some machines sensors dont align anymore. Gluck in your search.

i take mine to a fellow H-T'er in the milwaukee area (i'm in the chicago area). He is very helpful.

Also, you might want to wait for a response from Wai, or IM him. Im not sure where he gets his done... or if he just does it himself, but he might know.

My car isn't "slammed" but it is lowered. NTB always does mine. $59

I heard at Firestone, lifetime alignment is $110.

For NTB and Firestone, a lot of times the alignment is much worse than before they touch it. $59 is still a great price tho. If a race shop is gonna do it, it would cost around $100. But they would sure do it right and won't bitch about your lowered car.

Try Midwest Motorsport:

I haven't been there before, but my friends who drive BMWs say they do good work. They have a scale to corner-weigh too. Not sure about the price tho.

Heh, bashing the firestone peeps... guess I can understand though. I have a lifetime alignment package through Firestone, I walk into the bay and chat with the guy doing it. So far they've zero'd it out just as requested while I chat with them. Being over their shoulder probably doesnt hurt.

But what happens when you want 1/8" total toe out and 3* of camber in front?? Can they do that, or more appropriately... WILL they do that?

and yes, bugging them probably helps alot.

My SM was aligned at Advanced Autosports in Wauconda. It is a race shop and they do alignments all the time. Check their web site (http://www. Advanced-Autosports.com) for contact info. Another alternative is some guy called Al Volenzo (sp?) at Patrick BMW in Schaumburg. I hae also heard positive comments about his work but I have never used his services before.

That's a new policy then.

Have you tried asking one of the dealers around here, like Woodfield (Hoffman Estates) or Pauly (Highland Park)? Call them; they should be able to tell you over the phone whether or not they can do it.

It's not the closest place to Chicago, but I'm quite certain that Acura of Brookfield, just west of Milwaukee, could do it. They service a lot of modified cars and race-prepped cars. They're great. Too bad they're 100 miles away.

I lived in Northbrook for 22 years, am still in the area, and have never heard of this place.

Where is it?

be VERY SPECIFIC with acura of libertyville. They aren't the brightest, at least not the times i've been there. i was in there for an hour expaining what 1/8" total toe out was, and probably even longer explaining that i want both rear wheels facing straight forward (zero toe) and not some zero total where one wheel is out and one is in. very annoying.
