JDM H22 red top with m2u4 trans. Is this the 220 hp ver ?
We thought it was then we have had some customers tell us that it is not.
Also does the m2u4 trans make it a more difficult swap ?
Thanks for the info.

do u mean m2A4?
there is no 220hp version of any h22a, the highest rated they were ever released in the world was 220ps or 217hp

Nope it's m2u4. I found this on the web...
"The only H22 to avoid is from the Type SH Prelude. The brilliant torque distribution system (an electronically controlled box of clutches bolted to the block that Honda calls ATTS) replaces the intermediate shaft and its mounting bracket. The engine and transmission code to avoid is H22A4 and M2U4, respectively. Again, when someone actually swaps this in functionally, let us know."
Thanks,

the m2u4 is found in both the type-s and type-s as far as i know. currently not much has been said or done about putting it into a NON atts equippped car.
slap another tranny on it and sell it or sell teh atts equipped swap complete to someone who has an sh that is tired...

the type s engine from japan has an atts transmission just like the usdm type sh. It also has a factory lsd on it. I believe the codes are the same on the transmission... look through the differential and see if there is a bar going through it... if there is then its not a type s... if there isnt then that means it has lsd
ummm no the M2U4 does not have LSD, the ATTS system controls the differential.
Anyways if it has an M2U4, the the block code is H22A, with no numbers, the block head has a P5P stamp on it. and the Throttle body is 62mm, it's probably a type-s

To use the ATTS system what do you need ?

You need a Prelude SH...bascially. It's virtually impossible to have a functional ATTS system on a swap...too many sensors/controllers/computers/suspension components. Either it goes in an SH or you have to do a custom fab base tranny swap.

Realize that base trannies do not bolt to a type-s block without custom fabrication. But I think you'll figure it out when you try to put one on.
