Default A recap of my first HPDE

Well I have to say that I had the best time possible. In just one event I learned so much that I had to take notes.

First session on Sat. was a little nervous and learned the track, 2nd session was trying to look as far ahead as possible, This was scary to get used to and I don't think I did until Sun. but WOW this is a great thing to do. I was a little apprehensive to look out the passenger window coming out of 5 going into 6.

Type 3 turn by the way ( I learned me somethin ) By the end of Sunday, I was completely fine with looking as far ahead as possible. I have done things with the CRX that I never thought was possible.

Now I am going through withdraw, I can't wait until next event, but sadly that's next year. I have been bitten by the bug and now I don't want to stop.

I have to thank Jerry Chan for instructing me for this weekend. Hopefully I will have him again. Time to get a real seat.

It was good to see you out there with a grin from ear to ear
Thanks for all your hard work on grid and pit out this year.......I just hope we aren't losing a good worker because you have gotten "bitten by the bug"!

Jerry is a good instructor with a different perspective on how far to look ahead. He was initially supposed to be my instructor at the Glen, but there were some last minute changes... However, I did have the opportunity to ride with him, and he was trying to condition me to not look through the turn, but rather through the next turn.

Good to hear you had fun!

It was great to see you finally get out there!

I took Kaan's CRX out for about 10 minutes, and I must say they are extremely fun cars. I bet even more so with a vtec motor in it. The one thing they need though are real seats!

Another one bites the dust. Guess I'll have to find myself a new grid bitch.

The person responsible for all of this, I had gone to Laura and told her that I wanted to drive at SP Nov 1-2. She said for me to send her an e-mail and she would she what she could do.

Monday morning I recv. an e-mail from her stating that I was signed up and that I needed to go. Thanks Laura for pushing me in the right direction. I had a GREAT time and no you have not lost a Grid worker, at least for all the events. I wanted to thank you one more time for one of the best times I have had in a long time. See you soon,

Michael,

Nope, I'm a realist, I know that a car isn't in my financial picture right now. I'll stick to working and supporting all you fools that are hooked on the "go fast crackpipe".
