b16a idle problem

Default b16a idle problem

my idle fluctuates steadily from 750-1800 up and down up and down up and down...very steady. what causes this?

A gigantic air leak. Vacuum leak or gasket leak, for example.

check for air pockets in your cooling system. also check to make sure your IACV is not clog.

Fast idle thermo valve This might be a iacv though

Mine does it too.. Apparently its a fast idle valve or something like that, but I have no luck locating one ever.

Yours could just as easily be a vaccum leak or something too, but mine's the weird idle valve.

where are the iacv and fast idle thermo valve and what do you do to fix them, i think my vacuum lines are fine... it didnt do this until i recently parked the car a few weeks ago and decided to let it run the other day.

Page 6-47 of that PDF suggests that if the EACV doesn't read at 8-15 ohms, it is bad. Kind of a big range though . . .
