installing springs and shocks tomorrow- have a few questions
I am installing H&R sports and KYB AGX's on Saturday. Do I have to cut the bumpstop at all? I called H&R and they said not to but I have read that you are supposed to or the ride will be harsh. Also, does the H&R spring need to be compressed at all when I install it on the KYB's? Any help is greatly appreciated.
I cut my bump stops in half and I've got a nice comfortable ride. People have told me my car still feels stock as far as dampening is concerned. As far as compressing the springs.......you obviously need to compress the old springs to remove them unless ya wanna lose an eye or something but you don't need to compress the new ones just slide em' on and put the strut back together. Expect about a 3-4 hour job with a partner. Also, make sure to stop by an auto parts store and pick up some extra cotter pins cuz' more than likely you'll break the old ones when ya pop the ball joint off the front control arms. Good luck!

when i installed my H&R race springs, i didnt cut my bumpstops tho the direction tolded me to cut it in half if i wanted a additional .5 inch lowering. ride was HELLA good with the full bumpstop w/ stock shocks. after like a year, i took it out and cut the bumpstop in half. the ride got a lot harsher.
