Help: Corner lamp sockets for JDM front?
just wondering for all of you with the JDM front, which corner lamp sockets do you use? the Amber ones...
I found out when doing my own JDM type r front, that, the US sockets do not go all the way in without trimming them, but I can't get them to go with the rubber seals on them, they only lock in place without the rubber seals and it super loose.
I bought the JDM corner lamp sockets, but the harness connector is different, I only two pins wires instead of 3 like the US ones??? does anyone know where to get the other side connector for the JDM harness connector that plugs in the JDM corner lamp sockets or does any one know how to make the US corner lamp sockets lock in place with the rubber seals???
Help is appreciated!!!

You CAN force the US sockets into the corner. That's what I did. It's just a big pain in the *** and you lose some blood in the process.
The deal with the JDM corner lamp sockets being different is because it's only a single polarity instead of the US ones being a dual polarity. The JDM corners are only on when you are signaling where as the US ones stay on when you turn your headlights on AND also blink when you're signaling.
I say just try harder to push the US sockets in, it can be done.

At one point I ran the US socket. But once the light burnt out, I had a terrible time trying to change it. After that issue, I installed the JDM socket, and yes, it will only work as a turn signal. True JDM y000!

On a similar topic, does anyone know what wire to cut to make it so my corner light isn't on when my lowbeams are on???
Getting sick of people telling me my **** is hooked up wrong
Or would getting single filament bulbs do this?

use ur usdm turn signals...
1. cut some of the tabs off to make it fit...
2. make a foam gasket (u can get a sheet at hobby lobby, micheals, etc)
3. if u want it to blink only when turn signals are on, put some electrical tape on one of the 2 contacts on the bulb that is lit all the time (this kinda takes some trial and error to see which one it is)...

i'll check what wires they are for you, and if you wire a it a certain way you get all time fast blink

AFAIK, those sockets are also for dual filament bulbs. I wish I could help with this one, but my car is still at the shop

you would need a voltmeter. there are 3 wires that power that corner lamp.. "High" Power, "Low" Power, and Ground. You will need to know which wire the "Low" power is and snip it.. thats what causes the light to turn on w/the parking lamps or lowbeams. The "High" power will only have current going thru it if you are signaling or using the hazards.
I personally just leave the way it is (with the amber coming on w/the parking and low beams), just so the cops dont nag me as much.. always help when you have an amber glow on the corners.

You should be able to find all USDM parts you need at a Honda salvage yard.
Otherwise what I did with the rubber gasket and socket was to take my stock ones to the plumbing section at the hardware store. Then I just looked for a rubber gasket that was of similar diameter, but a bit thinner, found one, installed it, and it works perfectly.
The connectors are the same ones as the window washer fluid water pump connectors. They are 2-pin connectors and I believe that the orientation of the pins are in a 'T' shape. I wouldn't bother looking for those though. I would just find out what pin is for the signal only using a test light or multimeter. That harness should be from the one that goes down to the bumper. And the wire that has the signal only should go to both the corner lamp and side marker. The parking light goes to the headlamp housing. I am using the USDM sockets in my JDM headlamp corners.

what do you mean by that? just curious

i ment putting electical tape (e-tape) over the contact point on the bulb that is on all the time... that way, the light blinks only when u signal, and u can use ur USDM sockets
