h22 custom gear sets...
i have a fully built all motor h22 swap in a eg. my gearing sucks. i once heard that the most desireable thing is to end the 1/4 in 4th gear at the peak power, is that true? if so than i am way off. would that be too low for the street. i datalogged my car tonight with my AEM EMS and i get up to 140 MPH in 4th.
i really want to keep a nice gear for the highway b/c 5th already sucks, 80 mph is about 4100 rpm. so what are my options with the gearing, should i just switch the final and transfer shaft? is this my only option? does anyone make a custom gear set for the h22 trans?

not if he is running big slicks(26's or 28's) why do you think people desire close ratios trans? or try out differant final drives?

the saenz ratio changes to make them closer together shifting @ 9500 you should only see a 2000 rpm drop between all the gears

the saenz setup has pretty good gearing especially from 1st to 2nd i talked to GR and they can get em.. i think its a good setup for a turbo car running 28s... I run the oem tranny and oem gears.. i wont say what kind or what particular gears but if you keep your car setup right from tire size to gear ratio down to the suspension.. you will see some good results..

a gear set is $1700 it comes with 1st tru 5th gear and input shaft
the dog box is around $5200 ant it comes with all gears an both shafts ready to drop in
