b18c1 is easy and a good *** motor.

h22 is a little bit of a pain but great tq. for a street car.

it would help a lot if you told us ANYTHING AT ALL! whats it going into? what is the purpose of the car? whats your budget? are you planning on doing this yourself?

for the info you gave us, im surprised you even got a response at all. either give some info or do a search and save everyones time.

My buddy just bought an EG with an H22, if you want a car for the turns I suggest that you go with a GSR, if you want a mostly straight line car, I'd stick with the H22...

no with the correct suspension setup it runs just fine. you just need to know what you are doing. alot of people on here have done it and done it sucessfully

Indeed.

I really hate when posts like this come up and all the noobs jump up and start talking like they know jack **** about ****. Seriously: this exact topic is covered about twice a week and you don't even give us enough information to help you if we wanted to. If you've never done a swap, do the B18C because you'll undoubtedly **** up the H22 install and end up spending way too much money.

Use the search feature. It's there for a reason.

I don't think he means just driving around town, but more like auto x and running on road courses. It seems like everybody makes this assumption, just because they think its so much heavier. The H22 is not even significantly heavier, but i could be wrong, I think its only like 200lbs. The B18 is just a more bolt in type of swap, the H22 is a little bit tougher.

sure its a tougher install but believe me i would rather have that than my b18. i just didnt have the money at the time. the time and money is worth it. its comparable to the b18c5 but im not going there

BUT thats just my opinion, and having stated that the b18c is STILL a great engine. its just up to your preference bud....i know its not easy but this is the truth,, personally i think my next swap will be a b16b into an ek hatch(watch out for the **** flyin for that one hah) i love this place....peace....................john

B18= easier to work with
H22= little harder
b18= fits nicely
h22= little adjustment
b18= great for he street/circuit
h22= better for the strip
b18= i think theres more parts advailible over the h22

your choice

do search when you get time, find alot more answers to your question

Sorry guys, I didn't mean to act like a "noob" or whatever. I think everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I think it is very unprofessional to use profanity when making a point. I was simply stating something which my road racing friend told me after switching from a B18 swap in his EG to an H22. Perhaps saying that the H22 should be strictly a straight line setup was incorrect, all I know is that from his extensive experience on the street and track, (and no I'm not saying he is a pro) he liked the B18 swap better for a road race setup, than the H22. Anyways, to the author of this thread, good luck with your choice!

ask yourself what you want out of this car/swap. if you plan on roadracing which i highly doubt you are, id say go for the c1. if you want a torquey street car that has nice low end grunt, h22 all the way.

i have a c1 in my hatch and really couldnt be happier. but if my car was a street and strip only car id really like a h22 swap. thats my 2cents.

you know what, scratch all that. i think you should just throw in a K20 type r motor. it would be a great first swap to do yourself
