88 lude speed sensor where is it what does it look like?
Grab your speedo cable where is come through the firewall and keep a hold of it all the down to the tranny...Where it ends is where the speed sensor is.
he is correct. Your speedo cable is the one that runs across the top of the engine (between the intake manifold and the valve cover) that has the huge nut on it. it goes right down into the top of the transmission.
I'm going to wager that the bracket that holds the speed sensor to the tranny broke. I'd go to a junk yard to get one that still has the bracket (new ones are ~$200... or maybe it was even 300... but their pricey for sure). And I'll warn ya now, it's a PAIN to get at the bolt that holds it in, but with patience, you can do it yourself no problem.
also, it DOES have to be from an 88 or 89 prelude. They changed the speed sensor styles in 90.
Or for $5, you can just jb weld it back together. Mine's held up just fine for ~30k miles now.
