Default Valve Cover

Anybody know where I can get a blue v-tec valve cover for my 95ex? Also if anybody has a picture of this on their car...post for me. Oh yeah, how much do they run for in price?

Don't think you can get one for the EX motor.

If I am correct, the blue valve cover is from a JDM Prelude or Accord or something like that (any prelude guys out there please correct me if I'm wrong).

Both of those engines are DOHC, your EX engine is SOHC. The DOHC and SOHC engines use completely different valve covers.

I've only seen the blue valve covers on F22's and H22's.

Get some of that paint for engine components...Summitracing.com and do it yourself....a whole lot cheaper and you probably can pick the shade of blue, just don't get that FORD blue.

if you look in those advertising pages in a magazine(super street, SCC) they usually have SOHC valve covers in there that are colored. I know that I've seen them before. Good luck

I know Matrix makes them........you can pick what it says too.....either the OEM "Honda VTEC" which is my preference or the "Matrix" logo......your choice. But I think they only come in "anodized" colors......if ya want a nice solid blue go with the paint. It's not too difficult to do and it gives ya a chance to upgrade your head gasket too if you fancy.

Peace

The valve cover is one of the easiest pieces to remove, I do suggest that you get a Haynes manual for your car and follow those directions.

The paint, depends on the manufacturer but, you will have to clean the hell out of the surface and if the same company offers a primer, USE IT or you will have peeling paint. Think of it this way, 200 on a valve cover or 50 on paint/primer/sealer.

Also, you can use the paint on other things too like your calipers or header or whatever the hell else you want to paint.

Two ways to do it:

Paint it with a paint kit or high temp paint or powder coat it

jstock107,

Upgrade your head gasket? I hope you do know that the VALVE COVER just covers the valves. The head gasket is actually located BETWEEN the head and block. You're probably talking about the VALVE COVER gasket. But you have to change that anyways once you take off the valve cover. Just trying to clarify a few things...
