Default Relocating the battery....

I have been thinking of relocating/replacing the battery. I was originally just going to change the Battery to a Civic battery (about 1/2 the size and weight) But then i thought why not move it?!
But i don't really want to move it to the trunk.... Lots of cable (extra weight) and just a pain in the @$$.

So i thought can i relocate to closer to the firewall? I looked and i think that i can fit it on the front subframe/crossmember. Any thoughts? (like right below the Intake/Throttle body)

This is to aid in the overall balance in the car for Auto-Xing.

Thanks.

don't think that's a good spot due to all the water it'll see from above and below.

btw 12ft of 2ga cable weighs about 2 lbs.

Well the top will end up close to the TB. So it will not be sitting to close to the ground. Anda little water on the system will not hurt anything either... I have hosed down my engine a few times with NO ill effects.

Well i have pretty much rulled out moving it to the trunk... Hummm wait... I have allready ran the power wire for the sterio.... Hummm i could just use that wire for the battery. Can i just ground the battery to the chassie?

I don't know about the stereo wire idea... how thick is the wire?? Your engine is gonna need alot more juice than you sub woofer . Go to summit's website, they sell kits for the relocation and give you the proper gauge wire. Goodluck

Well... i use to run 2 12" subs 2 amps and 4 6x9's in the car.... I'm 2 guage wire. That stuff is Much higher quality than ANY power wire in our cars.
And i have extra wire for that fact so i can run the ground with that too.

Good thought but i think that i'm covered.

Yes, just make sure to scrape off all the paint and bolt it down very tight. Also, make sure your power wire is to proper guage. smaller guage=bigger fire

If you are taking the time to move it...I would move it to the truck. You need more weight in the trunk.

Do a search...I made a post about this a while ago. Got great info.

Good luck.
