Default Completed my minime swap.

Well started this morning at 7am and finished at 2am today, with many breaks in between. I pulled the beat up old d16a6 out of the CRX and dropped in a 98 d16y7 block (that I picked up for free) and a 93 d16z6 head (got for $50). Well I was fairly easy. I had bought the z6 head bolts but they ended up not working and I ended up using the y7 head bolts. I used the a6 alternator and intake manifold so I could remain obd0 and since the y7 block dosent have a ECT sensor on the block I connected the two wires that went to the sensor together for a temp fix so the fans always on for now. I used the a6 dizzy with some modification I made it fit. Switched the driver side mount bracket to the a6 mount bracket. Used the stock a6 manifold. And stock Si Ecu. And used a RPM switch for the Vtec. Im really please with the results as this is my beater/my sisters car. So for $50 and some change for gaskets its a fun car.

Oh yeah it has a nice new paint job also. We had left over paint so we color matched the valve cover to.

as for the fan thermoswitch u could have taken the plug fof behing the block and take the sensor off the A6 and put it on the block
be careful bc u can break the pins on the thermosiwthc easy and they are 40 at honda

Yeah we tried to to swap the sensor over to the other block but there wasnt a hole big enough for it anywhere on the block there was a big drain bolt that we were gunna drill out the center of and thread it in. We are gunna try it today, I just need to go out and see if I can find a tap big enough.

no dont do that u are going to regret it
the bolt should be next to the oil press witch and the oil filter..... if not u can just cut the wires of the thermo on ur car and rewire it to the thermo switch o the thermostat housing on the Y7 bloock

the fan switch will be located on the thermostat housing. also, you should've used the z6 intake manifold. the runners and ports are a little bit larger. you can use it with the pm6
