Default Which 1998 Type Rs had problems?

I might be in the market for a 1998 Type R and I was wondering which series of numbers for that year were the ones that had engine problems? Thanks.

A freind of mine used to have one and he told me that Acura recalled a series of Type Rs in 98 for some engine problems.

Well I guess I have nothing to worry about then except the decision of wether or not to sell my 440 whp Civic and get a Type R that would be slower, but a whole lot nicer (and have A/C), or to keep a car that's fast as hell but not as nice. Also, selling the Civic would get me out of a lot of debt. A 400 plus whp car tends to break stuff quite often.

My ITR doesn't have A/C nor is it nice, frankly it's a bucket.

Anyone I'd get would have A/C, would be clean, and wouldn't be heavily modified. I just want something that's fun to drive and looks good. PLus, I've wanted a Type R for 5 years now.

Only recurring problems I have seen the R's have is:

1) burning oil
2) weak alternator
3) rattling windows
4) windows that get stuck half way up
5) hatch leak

LOL!!! Mine's been stolen twice, broken into once, and just last week had the wheels stolen, so pardon me if I seem to point out the obvious.

(dc231) you deserve it if you're that stupid to let you ITR get done like that 2-3+ times.

I think the change, glove box, and window problem is appearant on all integras. I have never heard of any recall on a type r. Every problem that a type r has can be attributed to racing. Well upset for the a/c thing.

My antenna goes down 90% of the way and then stops. I'm just gonna pull the damn thing out. No sense in having it since I never listen to the radio.

Type R seats fade into an ugly color, too. Bet I've got the nastiest seats around
