Default Newbie here ... with a problem

Hello H-T! I'm new to Hondas, having just bought a 1993 Milano Red EH2 in August. It has 83000 on the clock and the interior is almost flawless, but the exterior, well that's another story (dents, dings, scratches, uneven bumper). I bought it for $2900, which I know is kinda steep considering its condition, but that's the cheapest I had seen a 5gen hatch with that few miles on it in 5 months of searching. I bought the hatch as a project car, and I haven't had the time due to work and lots of other things going on. Anyways ... my problem is this: it has sat in my driveway awaiting registration and tags for months, and I went out to start it a couple days ago, and it doesn't run! It ran when I bought it, but now, this is what happens when I try to start it. The starter clicks, the engine catches, but it drops revs almost immediately to 0 and cuts out. If I give it gas while starting it, it only prolongs the erratic idling, but cuts as soon as I stop. Also, when I get out of the car after trying to start it, I can smell gasoline fumes pretty heavily. I tried searching for help on this but couldn't find a similar problem. I've also checked the battery terminals, charged the battery, and tried jumping it. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

check your fuel lines injectors and fuel pump it sounds like a fuel system problem or maybe you just have a tank full of bad gas

I was thinking it was something fuel related, considering it ran when I bought it. Is there a drain plug on the fuel tank to drain the fuel or do I have to siphon it out? I should have thought of that first thing ...

I'm pretty sure you're gonna have to siphon it.
