Default Type R Intake Manifold.....?

Hey Guys,

I have been informed that a Type R (Integra R) intake manifold will bolt up to the H22.
I have access to one....

What would be the benefits of this conversion if any?

Thanks in advance...

I dont see no benefit from it, but I am not sure, let me ask you this, what is the size of both of the intake mani's?

you are talkin about the accord type r IM, right? if so, yes, it'll bolt right up and it's good for a slight gain in your top end.

ITR IM eh? If research has done me correctly... I thought b series parts would not bolt up to H series engines? Why would you want a ITR IM anways? Why not go with a ATR IM?

well go smoke some more crack with whoever told you that a manifold for b16a and b18cR/5 engines will fit.

General note: short intake mani running=good bottem end
long intake mani runner=high rev'ing power

if you are gonna buy it then I wouldnt do it, if you really looking forward to run your h22 with NA, go made some ITB's(that's not in the butt you smartass =P )

actually the type-r manifold has a shorter braoder runner for better high rpm flow andpower while stock/base model manifolds have longer narrower runners for better low rpm flow and enhanced low rpm torque.

um it does??
like hell it does
the port and bolt patterns are very off....

the integra type-r manifold fits on 2 engines
the b16a and b18c5 or b18cr
those engines both use the same head, a pr3 core i believe.
the H and F series are totally different and it will not fit at all or even be close.
a teg type-r manifold on an integra gsr even takes modification to fit and it is a lot closer to the b16a to start with.
im sure if enough crack is smoked you guys could get something working though

It will not fit...you want better air flow just remove the butterflies I guess...not much gain ...if any. I have mine removed and I cant feel any difference, supposely its better at top end. Good luck.

you got that exactly backwards, shorter runners are usually better for top end, and vise versa.

I just put an Accord TyprR (Euro R) manifold on my H-22 powered race car. Lots more power up top with a modest increase in torque. BUT for the street it would be a massive pain. I bought the manifold new so I didn't get any of the sensors. I don't have the IAS controller or the IAT temperature sender. We had to weld on a bung for the IAT, weld a lot of vacuum holes closed, make a new bracket for the throttle cable, and just live the problem of getting it started and making it idle. Worth the hassle for race only - 221 Hp at the wheels - but I wouldn't even consider it for the street. P.S. we won the Sears Point ustcc race easily partially because of the power!

why not just follow the write up that 2point6 has done on adapting the euro-r manifold? he has his running on a daily driven car without too manay issues and teh only harad part the way he did it seemed to be the adapter plate for the idle control...
