Default A lil OT but still needs to be answered!

My brake light is on even when my handle is down in both my R and my beater CRX.. Trey advised I check the fluid levels and just wanted to know if any fluid will work in my crx? Do i have to bleed the system if i'm just adding fluid?
I don't know if that's the prob in my R also, whereas i am @ work and can't check it. I know for sure it is the case in my CRX though...

http://www.itrca.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3139
Wanted to post it here because H-T moves a bit faster that ITRCA and i need some feed back on this..
Thanks opie

And yes, just for clarification I am a newb and have never had to change brake fluid in any car i have ever owned!
I usually crash them before any maintenance is due!

LOL

I had the same problem in my GSR and it ONLY did it when it was cold/damp outside. Once it warmed up (the car) the light would turn off. Do you have similar symptoms?

It could be the reservior cap.

At least, that was the problem with my ITR. Not sure about the CRX though.

I had the same problem, and my fluid levels were fine. All i did was take the cap off, clean it and put it back on. The light hasnt come back on since.

yup - there's a sensor in the reservoir that will make the light come on if the fluid is low (or if the sensor isn't working...)
Top up the reservoir with brake fluid and see what happens. Make sure the cap is on correctly as well...
