Looking to buy a 96' Civic EX HB.

What are the difference through the years? Whats the best year? Fill me in!!

well your topic heading says EK9 which is the CTR which you can't buy here.

 

lil changes, there was no ex hatch. the 96-98 had the older style nose 99 up had the new nose. 99 up changed the dash area where the radio was mounted. cx have smaller non painted rear wing the dx had a bigger rear hatch wing that was color matched. the cx had steel wheels w/ no hubbies and the dx had hubbies. in 99 the cx had no remote hatch release the dx did, 96 earlier had the remote hatch release i believe. also i think the dx had a rear wiper and the cx doesn't. engines and trannys are the same through the years 99 up seemed to get a lil beefier bottom end. 99 up ecu plugs changed. i think that covers it

 

No such thing as an EX... dang.. guess that shows how lil i know bout civics. So basically there aren't much changes except exterior.

 

either way that you go ,its on your style .to which front nose you like 96-98 or 99-00 but everything else its almost the same .very few changes

 

IMO if you can find one I would go with a 97 hatch.
