10.1 compression in a stock gsr

Default 10.1 compression in a stock gsr

should i run a 2 layer head gasket in the motor i am gona swap in with stock cams. im only gona run the set up for 1 summer because 3rd semester we need to do a motor rebuild project. but i wanted to be a little bit more spunkey for the summer.

go for it...im thinkin about doin the same thing with my gsr...i would pick from either spoon, mugen, cometic..just make sure u seal everything back or u could have issues lata on

not really sure..dont think it will help that much..i mean the stock gsr is 10:1 so the gasket will only raise comp by .2-.3 or something like that..so if u want more gains i would get some JDM ITR pistons and then use the gasket...but of course this will cost a hell of a lot more doe..so unless u have to change the headgasket i wouldnt bother with it cause it wont make that much of a difference

Use a OEM Honda headgasket, and remove a layer. Put in some B16 pistons too.

i dont think i am gona do aneything. i was gona bump it up just for the summer so i could have a little more kick until my third semester rebuild. I dont think its gona be worth it tho.

That's probably a good choice... I personally will not mess with a motors compression via changing headgasket or milling... If you wanna bump up the C/R do so with pistons... Yea, it costs more but it's the only way to really do it... As stated above at std. bore (81.00mm in your case) you'll get about a 0.25:1 increase for every 0.009-0.010" you pull off... Even going down to a single layer, increasing your C/R by roughy 0.50:1 you probably won't notice any gains... All motor is all about headwork and cams... Getting the compression is the easy part... Just my $0.02... peace

i would only use a oem head gasket
and get a 2 layer head gasket really wont help much
your not going to feel any difference if thats the only thing your going to go
