Need Help on Choice
Hey I have about $3700 at best at my disposition - and i'm lookin 2 buy a ride. I could probably get a b16 - but i mean how fast could it run the 1/4 on average in a rex or civic? (just the motor itself) i'm also thinking about buying a ls/vtec 90 civic hp it would be $3300 but the guy is in cali and i'm in fl so there's like no way I can get shipping for less than $700. The car from cali is pretty sweet very clean - interior basically stock - is primed white and has ls/vtec done, exhaust intake ,rims etc i don't know which would be better - because i'm thinkin for $4k i could get 2 decent rexes or civs - the guy said his ls/vtec motor is runnin about 210 @ the wheels - i know the b16 would be like 150hp @ wheels - the ls/vtec is in a 90 si so i'd need 2 know how fast it would be for a 1/4 mile (the guy says 12 easily) - i'm also planning 2 go turbo after i'd make some money later - would need 2 know if the ls/vtec could withstand it.
If it wasn't for the shipping i'd already have the ls/vtec - but the interior turns me down - it's clean and all but basically stock nothing much - and basically $3700 is all i have and will have for a while - so do you guys think the ls/vtec car is worth the money?
Also I contacted a guy sellin a 88 civic also ls/vtec - for $2000 very cheap awesome mods, he says this will do 1/4 in approximately 13.5 - has many mods, interior has 2000gsr seats - that would've been mine already 2 but he says it overheats and says if I replace the Head Gasket and Radiator, that it will be fine - I'm thinking that there could be other reasons for the overheating - what do you guys think - $2000 is an awesome price but don't want some overheating crap
So it's basically - b16 vs. ls/vtec vs. another ls/vtec in my case - would also like 2 know if anyone knows how much a h22 swap would cost and if it's better than the ls/vtec and b16 in performance i know it is but I mean overall - because i mean if i put it in a hatch - heard it's very complicated - i'd prob need it installed.
Please I'm open 2 any input !!! I really need 2 know what other people think thanks!
