searching usually helps, it requires wiring... probably didnt find anything cuz it's spelled VTEC

My phone usually works by just plugging it in..
VTEC is in Hondas
VTECH is a phone!
As for your question, there is no way in hell to have a shift light engage VTEC

activating vtec manually does you no good. Just because your vtec kicks in doesnt mean the fuel system is too. MSD had vtec activation and rpm pills you could use...but the whole "shift light to activate vtec" thing played out back in 1995....get with the times man.
a shift light is essential an rpm activated circuit wired to a light. it is in no way "played out". it is a legitimate way to activate any 12v signal via rpm. Basically, rewire the light output to the VTEC solenoid. and BTW, just becuase you have an rpm activated switch doesnt mean that you dont have an AFC or a chipped ECU or something to control the additional fuel and timing curves required for proper tuning of the high cam lobes.

it'll work, its a dam good idea, i say if maybe u could splice em up, it would be tight that when vtec kicks in, the light would go on and saty on until the vtec is off. its continous power so it would work fine. if u wanna get really ghetto, get a toggle switch. im not sure about how good for the solenoid it is.. ive heard it will fry it eventually.. but use shift light until u can saver enough cash for an obd1 change and use the rioght computer or get ur si computer redone

But if you have that then whats the point of the ghetto rig? Anyone that has the right ECU shouldnt be rigging any "manual" activation switch anyway. What purpose would it serve?

I am currently using a shift light to engage vtec, havent had any problems. I'd still recommend a vtec controller.. my car is a commuter and I'm not really looking to dump money into it so the light works fine
